Organizers of several major steampunk events have announced plans for next year, including dates, locations, themes, and guests. In addition, some deadlines are approaching if you’d like to participate in upcoming events as a vendor or artist.
Downtown Attleboro will become a steampunk playground at the Jewelry City festival
Steampunk designer Bruce Rosenbaum will be among the guests as the second Jewelry City Steampunk Festival takes place Oct. 27 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The free event will include a costume contest, live music, kids' activities and more.
The Atlanta Steampunk Expo offers a packed program for makers, authors, and cosplayers
“Victorian Nightmares” will be the theme as the second Atlanta Steampunk Exposition takes place Oct. 26-28, 2019, at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest hotel. The theme is inspired by the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
The Watch City festival wants contraptions that “arrest the eye and tickle the brain”
The Watch City Steampunk Festival is seeking entries for a “Mad Science Exhibition” at next year’s event. “Competitors will submit an ‘invention’ in the form of a contraption, construct, or kinetic sculpture,” the organizers say.

An event originally conceived as a book fair will return October 13 to Fort Myers, Florida, as SWFL SteamCon. The program includes authors, music, makers, costumes, parasol dueling, tea dueling, and a sporting event known as Hamster Wars.

Flights of Fancy in New York’s Hudson Valley is a steampunk event with an aerial twist
Steampunks will take to the skies as Flights of Fancy returns to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Red Hook, New York, on Saturday, Sept. 29. The event will include biplane rides along with a “History of Flight Air Show” and other activities.
