Cogs & Corsets returned June 3 and 4 to downtown Bloomington, Illinois, and once again our correspondent was there was camera in hand to capture the cosplay and other festivities.

On most days, Mary Anne Ellis is a mild-mannered librarian in the Southern History Department of the Birmingham (Alabama) Public Library. But on or around Halloween, she becomes the Steampunk Librarian, sometimes posing for photos with patrons and colleagues. She’s been doing it since 2011.

Hundreds of steampunks gathered in costumed splendor at the Newark Free Steampunk Festival, held Aug. 28 and 29 in Newark-on-Trent. The event was presented by the Ministry of Steampunk after the Asylum Steampunk Festival was cancelled.
