Professor Elemental

Professor Elemental is a chap hop artist who first gained fame in 2008 for his music video “Cup of Brown Joy.” He followed this with “Fighting Trousers,” which has garnered more than 3.7 million views on YouTube. He frequently performs at steampunk events in the UK and USA.

In addition to his music, he’s starred in a series of comics and authored two books, Professor Elemental’s Tales of Wrong and Mea Cuppa: The Autobiography of Professor Elemental.

The game, also entitled Apequest, puts players on the trail of the Professor’s orangutan butler Geoffrey and a pair of stolen time trousers. The Kickstarter campaign by developer Mark Powell is now well into stretch goals.
Want to celebrate the holidays in steampunk style? Here’s a sampling of holiday-themed music, old and new, from musical acts that cater to steampunk fans. They include selections from Abney Park, Madam Misfit, Professor Elemental, and more.
Nemesis, released on Oct. 11, pits the Professor and his orangutan butler Geoffrey against their ultimate adversary. A large cast of musical guests helps the Professor tell a harrowing story with a surprise ending.
The Professor will headline a show at the Stroud Steampunk Picnic Party, which will also feature art workshops by Tom and Nimue Brown. The Captain will perform at Amberley Steampunk Weekend, which takes place at an open-air history museum.
This isn’t the steampunk Professor Elemental, so here he’s known simply as “Elemental.” He describes the video as “a nightmare of everything I never want to be.”
Another sign that steampunks are emerging from pandemic-induced hibernation: Professor Elemental and Frenchy and the Punk have both announced concert dates for 2021. Frenchy and the Punk also announced a new line of themed merchandise.
It’s “not strictly steampunk,” the Professor says, but “it’s as silly as it is uplifting.” They’re joined by guest artists Dr Syntax, Longusto, Blaise, Dillon, and Nick Maxwell.
Escapades RPG has released version 0.1 of Professor Elemental’s Garden of Escapades, described as “the world’s first Chaphop/Steampunk Rap RPG.” The setting is a garden party hosted by the chap hop artist.
Elizabeth Chatsworth has posted a lyric video of “All Hail the Queen,” a chap hop song by Professor Elemental and Tom Caruana that was inspired by her new novel The Brass Queen.
