Halloween is the closest thing that steampunk fans have to an official holiday. But throughout the year, many steampunks celebrate other special days: Nikola Tesla Day, International Steampunk Day, World Octopus Day, and the like. Science fiction fans have their own special days as well.
We’ve compiled a list of these observances and integrated them into our events calendar. We did this in part for our own benefit. Often, we’ll write stories about these days, but sometimes they sneak up on us. On multiple occasions, we’ve even forgotten The Steampunk Explorer’s own birthday (March 6).
