New Jersey Art School to Host Steampunk Show in June and July

The duCret School of Art in Plainfield, New Jersey, is hosting a steampunk art show in June and July, with an opening reception set for Saturday, June 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Entitled Amalgamations... A Steampunk Collective, the show features works by 14 artists in a variety of media, including traditional oil and acrylic paintings as well as digital art, jewelry, multimedia, and oddities in shadow boxes.

The exhibition is curated by Christine Myshka, who has been teaching a semester-long course in steampunk art at the school since 2019.

The artists include Megan Cocho, Michael Donato, Lisa Falkenstern, Larry Gove, Jeff A. Menges, Vince Natale, Robert Nicol, Sharon Reed, Mark Romanoski, Kevin Sadler, Eva Kaveri Sienkiewicz, Brian Townsend, and Sammi Van Duisternis, in addition to Myshka herself.

The show runs through July 9 at the school, which is located at 1030 Central Ave, Plainfield, NJ 07060. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Private appointments are also available.
