Cosplay, Nerf dueling, and more at the free “Steampunk Happening” in Illinois
Steampunk fans in the Midwest braved 90-degree temperatures as Cogs & Corsets: A Steampunk Happening, took place June 2-4 in Bloomington, Illinois. Fortunately, many activities were held in the air-conditioned Bloomington Center for Performing Arts.
It’s another jam-packed steampunk weekend with events across the U.S., along with Steampunk NZ in New Zealand and Portsmouth Comic Con in the U.K. U.S. highlights include Cogs & Corsets and the Freaky Mutant Weirdo Festival.

Cogs & Corsets returned June 3 and 4 to downtown Bloomington, Illinois, and once again our correspondent was there was camera in hand to capture the cosplay and other festivities.
It’s another busy weekend for steampunk fans with events in Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Newark-on-Trent, and West Sussex. They include Cogs & Corsets, Cog County Faire, and Freaky Mutant Weirdo Variety Show.

Cogs and Corsets in Central Illinois and Steampunk Old Timers Day Festival in Van Buren, Arkansas are back after a one-year hiatus. Cogs and Corsets will return for one night only in a scaled-back form.
