Missouri Civil War Museum

The Missouri Civil War Museum opened in Jefferson Barracks County Park in 2013. Displays focus on the state's role during the American Civil War and include weapons, equipment, medical equipment, photographs and uniforms. The "Hollywood and the Civil War" exhibit features costumes from movies about the Civil War, including "Gone with the Wind." During the Civil War, Jefferson Barracks served as a military hospital for both sides and a recruitment depot for the North.
The park also contains the Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum and several museums about the history of the Jefferson Barracks Military Post.
