University of Missouri-St. Louis

The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) is newest of the four universities in the University of Missouri System. UMSL's campus is located on the former grounds of the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis County. Additional facilities are located at the former site of Marillac College and at Grand Center, both in St. Louis city. Divisions include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business Administration, the College of Education, the College of Fine Arts and Communication, the College of Nursing, the College of Optometry, the Pierre Laclede Honors College, and the School of Social Work. Total enrollment in fall 2016 was 16,989.
Notable alumni include actress Phyllis Smith ("The Office," "Inside Out," "The OA").
Library access: The Thomas Jefferson Library is the main library. Missouri residents not affiliated with the university can obtain a Guest Borrower card for $35 per year. In addition to borrowing privileges, the card allows users to access electronic databases from computers inside the library.
The Jefferson Library also houses the St. Louis Research Center of The State Historical Society of Missouri.
Also on campus is the St. Louis Mercantile Library, the oldest library west of the Mississippi River.
