Moffett Field Historical Society Museum
A view of Hangar One taken in 1963.
The museum has exhibits related to the history of Moffett Field and the military and NASA commands that operated there. The airfield is best known as the site of Hangars One, Two, and Three, which were used to house lighter-than-air craft in the 1930s and 1940s. Hangar One is among the largest freestanding structures in the world. The museum occupies Building 126, across the street from Hangar One. The airfield is next to the NASA Ames Research Center.
