This museum in Napa Valley claims to have "the largest collection of Stevensoniana on public display in the world." The main permanent exhibition traces the life of the famed author from his birth in Scotland to his time spent in California and his travels in the South Pacific. The collections include original manuscripts, correspondence and some of Stevenson's personal belongings.
Stevenson's "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" has inspired numerous adaptations in film, television and comic books. Most notably for steampunks, Jekyll and Hyde are characters in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," the steampunk comic book series by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill that was later adapted into a film.
