Ackland Art Museum

The Ackland Art Museum is a museum and academic unit of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The permanent collection holds about 17,000 works, with its most notable regional holdings in Asian art as well as works of art on paper (i.e. prints, photographs, and drawings). The collection also has important holdings of European masterworks, twentieth-century and contemporary art, African art, and North Carolina pottery. Artists in the collection include Albrecht Dürer, Jean-Honoré Fragonard, Käthe Kollwitz, Pablo Picasso, and Max Weber.
