Superstition Mountain Museum
The Audie Murphy Barn on the grounds of Superstition Mountain Museum
This museum has collections and exhibits related to the history of Apache Junction and the Superstition Mountains near Phoenix. The 12-acre property includes the Audie Murphy Barn and Elvis Memorial Chapel from the Apacheland Movie Ranch, which opened in 1960 and was later destroyed in a fire. The collections also include Native American artifacts and historic mining equipment. A G-scale model train layout with 1500 feet of track recreates the area in the early 1900s. The latter is open in fall, winter and spring.
