The Museum of American Finance is the United States's only independent public museum dedicated to preserving, exhibiting and teaching about American finance and financial history. Located in the Financial District in Manhattan, New York City, it is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. As part of its mission to document US financial history, the Museum actively collects documents and artifacts related to the financial markets, money and banking.

Permanent exhibitions focus on the financial markets, money, banking, entrepreneurship and Alexander Hamilton. Its collection includes more than 10,000 stocks, bonds, prints, engravings, photographs, bank notes, checks and books.
