The society operates a heritage center at Naval Air Station Lakehurst, best known as the site of the 1937 Hindenburg airship disaster. The group hosts walking tours of the base, including the crash site and Hangar One, which housed the airship Shenandoah.

Tours are available every Wednesday and the second Saturday of each month. An additional tour is conducted the fourth Saturday of each month from April through November. Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance. Tours are limited to U.S. citizens and strict security rules apply.

The website includes photos and background info about the base and the airships housed there.
