Pepperdine University
Pepperdine University is a private, not-for-profit, coeducational research university affiliated with the Churches of Christ. The university's 830-acre main campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean in unincorporated Los Angeles County near Malibu. Courses are also taught at six graduate campuses in Southern California, and at international campuses in Germany, England, Italy, China, Switzerland and Argentina. Notable alumni include Skeptics Society founder Michael Shermer and Pixar Entertainment Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter.
Library access: Members of the general public can borrow books from Pepperdine Libraries by joining Friends of the Library. Membership costs $100 and allows members to borrow up to five times.
