Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles
The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) is a for-profit private college in California. It offers courses in fashion, entertainment, beauty, interior design and graphic design. The college was founded in 1969 by Tonian Hohberg, who is the president and CEO. It has campuses in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Orange County. The Los Angeles campus includes the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Museum, a large collection of fashion and costume pieces from the 1800s to today.
Each FIDM campus has a library containing books, periodicals and other research materials related to textiles and design. It's available to alumni, industry researchers and scholars by appointment.
