Kemper Center is a 17.5-acre property on the Lake Michigan shoreline that includes the Victorian-era Durkee Mansion, Anderson Arts Center, Simmons Auditorium and a conference center. Durkee Mansion was the home of Charles H. Durkee (1805-1870), who was a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin. It later became a boarding school. Tours are offered by appointment. The Anderson Arts Center hosts art exhibitions and classes.
