The Longyear Museum has exhibits and collections related to the life and work of Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910), the founder of Christian Science and The Christian Science Monitor. The collection includes eight historic houses in New England where Eddy resided. The museum was founded by philanthropist Mary Beecher Longyear and occupied her home before moving to its current location on Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill. The Boylston Street location includes exhibits about Eddy as well as items from the collection.
