Thousands flocked to the town known for its association with Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Author Jess Nevins famously stated that “steampunk is what happens when goths discover brown.” But for a few days last month it was steampunks donning black as the spring edition of Whitby Goth Weekend took place April 28-30 on the U.K.’s North Yorkshire coast.
Billed as one of the world’s largest goth gatherings, it reportedly drew thousands to revel in live music, dark fashion, and the ambience of a town known for its association with Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Lucky for us, our guest contributor Craig Jenkins was there, fresh off his starring role in our April Fools’ Day Craigpunk video, and kindly allowed us to use his photos. You can see them in the gallery below. Then get ready for the next Whitby Goth Weekend, set for Oct. 27-29, 2023.
