Photos: More Cosplay at Anno 1900

An open-air museum in Luxembourg offered the perfect backdrop for steampunk cosplay

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

Minett Park Fond-de-Gras in Pétange, Luxembourg once again hosted Anno 1900, a steampunk convention/festival noted for its historic setting and spectacular costumes. And once again, photographer Dominique Linel was there to capture the highlights.

The venue is an open-air history museum with its own railway station, an ideal backdrop for cosplay. The program also featured live music, merchants, tea dueling, and opportunities to ride the steam trains. The music lineup included multiple performances by Paris-based “steam-goth” band Victor Sierra. The event took place Sept. 23-24.

Last year, we used some of Linel’s photos to stage a steampunk-style spaghetti western in Episode 3 of The World of Steampunk, our video series on YouTube and Vimeo (it begins around 4:06).

Here’s a look at some of the best scenes from the 2023 gathering. See more in our previous stories from 2018, 2019, and 2022. Also check out the photographer’s Flickr page.
