Lots of costumed spectacle at the Newark Free Steampunk Festival in the UK

Wednesday, September 22, 2021

Hundreds of steampunks gathered in costumed splendor at the Newark Free Steampunk Festival, held Aug. 28 and 29 in Newark-on-Trent, UK. The event was presented by the Ministry of Steampunk after the larger Asylum Steampunk Festival was cancelled. It featured a steampunk picnic on Saturday followed by a steampunk market and promenade on Sunday.

Though it didn’t have the scale of the Asylum fest, the event had plenty of spectacle as steampunk fans donned their colorful and imaginative outfits.

Our guest photographer Craig Jenkins was there with camera in hand, and once again kindly allowed us to use his photos (you can see more in the gallery from The Town That Never Was).

Check out his latest work in the gallery below. For more scenes from the Newark festival, see the Welcome to the Asylum Facebook page.
