This art, science and history museum is located in northern New Jersey. Its most prominent exhibit is the Murtogh D. Guinness Collection of Mechanical Musical Instruments and Automata, consisting of 750 mechanical pieces from the late 16th through early 20th century. The automata include snake charmers, magicians and singing birds. The collection also includes player piano rolls, pinned cylinders and other programmed media.
