Travel Town Museum

5200 Zoo Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90039

Travel Town Museum is located in the northwest corner of Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Its primary focus is the history of railroad transportation in the western United States from 1880 to the 1930s, with an emphasis on Southern California and the Los Angeles area. The museum contains 43 full-scale railroad engines, cars and other rolling stock, including steam and diesel locomotives. The main exhibit hall houses additional transportation equipment, including a hand drawn fire-hose cart, horse-drawn wagons, buggies, a circus wagon, and vintage autos. One exhibit shows a cut-away boiler. Admission to the museum is free.

GP Rah Enterprises operates rides around the grounds on a 16-inch gauge miniature railway. That company also operates a separate railroad in Griffith Park.
