Governors State University
Governors State University (GSU) is a public university in Will County, Illinois. The 750 acres campus is located 30 miles south of Chicago. As of the fall semester 2014, it transitioned from an upper-division public university that admitted juniors, seniors and graduate-level students to a comprehensive public university that offers undergraduate courses at all levels, including masters and doctoral. GSU has four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Public Administration, the College of Education, and the College of Health and Human Services.
Library access: The university library is open to the public. It offers reciprocal borrowing privileges to members of I-Share and South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium. Other guests can abtain borrowing privileges by joining Friends of the GSU Library for $100 per year.
